Modesto Court- 800 11th Street Modesto, CA 95354 (209) 530-3100

This is the only functioning criminal court in the county. The Date and time for your first court date will be at the bottom of your notice to appear, for those notices that look like a traffic ticket. If they give you an
8 1/2" x 11" notice, it can be an anywhere on the document. If you bailed out with a bail bondsman, then there will be no notice to appear. In this event, the bondsman would give you the date. You must appear in court on all felony filings, but if you secure a law firm to represent you, then the attorney will be able to represent you in your absence.

Stanislaus County District Attorney:

The Office of the District Attorney is the law enforcement branch of the court system, that decides whether your case has facts sufficient to prosecute. This county is what we call conservative. They believe that issuing tougher penalties for crimes keeps the community at large safer. These individuals are experienced, government lawyers. They are your opposition. They are the individuals with whom we negotiate in order to make you the best deal to close your case (in the event that you have no dismissal issues in your police reports).
